About Gary Elfring
My name is Gary Elfring and I have been writing commercial software since 1975. I formed my own software business in 1979. My software company, Elfring Fonts Inc, employees eight people and sells a number of bar coding, check printing, and font related products.
I live and work about 50 miles west of the city of Chicago. My office looks out on a major intersection that has been under construction for the last two years with no end in sight. I live with my wife, pets, and our transient children.
I joined the ASP in 1989, was elected to the ASP Board of Directors in 1991, and was elected Chairman of the ASP Board of Directors in 1992. I was elected to the SIAF board of directors in 1998, which hosts the Software Industry Conference each year. I am also a founding member of the European Shareware Conference, which began in November of 2000.
